I've just got my GC900 and the GPS can work in Stand alone mode. Are there some GPS maps or program that will make the phone a stand alone GPS unit, that is without always jumping onto the internet to get maps etc. Mobile internet is still way to expensive.

Thanx

You should check this out: You are not allowed to view links.
Register or Login . It works as a stand alone GPS and supposedly runs on the gc900. I however didn't get it to run yet. Maybe you will beat me to it Tongue. If so please report.

Update on this, I installed this and the uk maps but only have a yellow screen with direction indicator and says no map data, there must be an easier way to install something like this. All the icons went into my photo gallery, so have decided to give up for now and hopefully someone with a bit more know how will enlighten us soon, Im a bit dissapointed as one of the reasons I got this phone was for the sat nav and a decent camera, Im having trouble finding ANY apps for this phone at all.
I have a proper sat nav but wanted this for driving my motorbike

WETravel Midlet Suite works,
WeTravel_PhoneUpload_v0.0.2  install on your PC and download all. Download maps.
After download just in .jad file after "UseNativeCommands: false" PASTE this
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Height: 800LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Width: 480 :
and erase information about another phone. copy all on memory card and install them.
GPS works after 2-4min when you on road,

Any hints on how to get WeTravel to work when GPS type is set to "Stand alone"
I have selected "Internal GPS (JSR-179)" and tried restarting WeTravel then leaving it for 20+ minutes but no joy.

Phone s/w version is Orange GC900AT_V10n

Has anyone got their GC900 stand alone GPS working with their laptop GPS software, e.g. Autoroute 2010 or similar?
